Who am I?
I’ll be honest I don’t know what to call myself on this blog as I’ve been on the internet for a long long time and I go by many names. If you have a name for me, use that one, otherwise I’m just some anonymous entity that may or may not be real.
My most recent nickname is Ken because I’m a big fan of the Barbie Movie. I currently reside in the UK.
It’s very easy to become friends with me if you have a dog and want to tell me everything about them!
Language History
I am currently learning Spanish. I have studied Japanese, German and Scots Gaelic in the past to varying degrees, my memory is like a bucket with a hole in the bottom though.
Language Learning has been a hobby for as long as I can remember, I spent so much time on Lang-8 back in the day getting corrections, studying for my JLPT tests but depressingly I am only fluent in my native language English. I intend to change that, I would love to use language to connect with more people. It’s funny I say this now because I am a total introvert but it’s true.
For the longest time I felt like I couldn’t learn a language effectively until I tried the Refold course with Spanish. Spanish has shown me that it’s not that I couldn’t learn a language, the languages I had attempted to learn before Spanish were so different from English meaning that they will take longer.
I have a lot more hope these days and I’ve found ways to make the process fun. The beginner stage is a grind for me, no matter what the language but now I’m having a lot of fun in Spanish.
I may share a bit about other hobbies, write about what media I have used for input and what I think of them.
Why is this site called Wicked Game?
Well, I had some spare domain names hanging about, this one the most fitting but why that is, is a long story that maybe I’ll save for another time. For now, enjoy the song.
